Ever thought of the greatest opportunities to live our values and yet betray them with
the lies in the food that we put on our plates. How many people today take advantage of the smallest
things, but don’t see the big impact on it. Did you ever question your self what types of food are you
eating, or where it comes from. How most things about our food is kept behind closed gates and labels
upon labels telling you what’s good and what’s not. People don’t know that organic and inorganic
and nothing but why to make profit. Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer is a book that will take a
toll upon what you eat and will change your perspective on what you comuse. Foer does not only talk
about the food you eat but the inhumane conditions in factory farms and unimaginable facts that will
shock you. PETA and HSUS are known as the largest animal rights organizations in the world. They
both focus on fighting for the protection of all animals through advocacy, education, cruelty
investigations, research and animal rescue. They seek a humane and sustainable world for all animals.
Even though both fight for the same cause they also do some things different for instance, PETA
promotes a healthy vegan diet and show how to be cruelty free. They also protest, loudly and publicly
against cruelty towards all animals, and expose what really goes on behind factory farms, and animal
laboratories. HSUS has a different approach to saving their animals. They want to reduce suffering and
create social change for animals. They provide care for animals and are an disaster relief agency. The
organization also provides care at sanctuaries, rescue facilities and, wildlife rehabilitation centers.
The two most well known animal rights organizations PETA and HSUS, have a huge impact on
the lives of animals every day. They not only tell you how to change a life of a helpless animal but go
undercover in factory farms and animal testing facilities and experience the horrific sights that these
animals are being put through. Known as an heavenly escape for vegetarians and animals, PETA and
HSUS focus on fighting for the protection of all animals in factory farms and make sure that not another
animal has to suffer. As Foer states “ What is suffering? I’m not sure what it is, but I know that suffering
is the name we give to the origin of all the sighs, screams, and groans…” (Foer 77). This doesn’t only
go for the cruelty of animals suffering but, that their are people that want to help and change the ways
farmers kill their animals and decrease the population for humans. Condensing that not only are all farm
animals being abused and no precaution is being taken to the inhumane slaughtering of the animals, the
organization seek a humane and sustainable world for all animals. Animals should be treated with care
and respect like any human would be. Farm animals every day are skinned alive and beat to death
because people can't live without eating meat. People have to realize sooner or later that these animals
have hearts too, they breath the same air we do, eat plants that we do, and yet why treat them any
different. What if life was the other way around. Humans would be the victims of the suffering that
farmers are putting these animals through. There are people and organizations that want to stand by and
let this go without putting a stop to the cruelty of the farm animals. The animals are not alone and will have support from people that want to make a difference not only for well-being but the being of our
animals.
Even though both organizations have the same view upon how animals should be treated, and
cared for, they both have different ways to do it. PETA also known as “ People for the Ethical
Treatment of Animals” want to promote a
