Kenya and Mahogany rushed down the stairs to get Sahara. They hugged and kissed her and were tired from crying earlier. Sahara said are y’all okay? They both responded that they were great! They elected not to share the incident with Sahara immediately. When they reached home, the beautiful furnishings in her home took Sahara by surprise. She was so excited. Ms. Hopkins dropped Diamond off after-school and Ebony cooked. They all fellowshipped and counted their blessings! She also hired an attorney and a private psychiatrist for Diamond’s case against DFACS/CPS. In addition, she was current with her mortgage and other expenses. Therefore, Kenya, Ebony, and Mahogany decided to leave. Ebony left Sahara an envelope and it contained enough cash to hold her over for a while. Each of them continued to stay in touch with the other. About three months later, Kenya was concerned that no one heard from Ebony. She called Sahara and Mahogany and learned that they had not spoken with Ebony during the last few days. Sahara said she presumed that Ebony was at a conference or on business travel. They called her cell, office, and home number. They realized that no one had any other forms of contact for her, no information on her mother’s address or telephone number, or a friend in Texas. Kenya called directory assistance to search for a listing for Ebony’s mother. There was no listing. She called directory assistance to get the main number for Ebony’s business. When she called and spoke with the receptionist, the receptionist informed her that Ebony had passed away a week earlier. Kenya tried to be strong because she thought that this could be a false alarm. Hoping that the woman would respond in the negative, she asked the receptionist for any information about the family or funeral. Instead, the woman told her where they funeralized Ebony.
