Echo is the nymph, an enchanted creature that dwells in the natural world. Echo loves to talks and always has to have the last word. She helps the Olympian god Zeus by distracting his wife, Hera, so that he can be free to do as he pleases. Narcissus is the handsome and smug son of a nymph. This myth is set to deal with real societal issues. Echo, repetition of sound produced by the reflection of sound waves. There is a goddess and non-human, Hera, is a goddess, Echo is a nymph, and Narcissus is the son of a nymph. Echo, the nymph in “Echo and Narcissus," likes to talk. Element common to all myth: Nature, the echo sound, the still pool. Echo purposefully keeps Hera in conversation long enough to allow her husband Zeus to escape. This story explains the origin of the phenomenon "echo." The resolution of the story has to do with Echo's punishment.
