After reading the article “Hope Across the Razor Wire: Student-Inmate Reading Groups at Monroe Correctional Facility” by Ed Wilitse uses several different ways to integrate external sources. The external sources material that Wilitse used as footnotes, journal entries, direct quotes, and indirect quotes. In the face of Wilitse’s wide usages of outside sources, was kind of unclear in what Wilitse was trying to get across to the reader. It is an important for the reader to understand what the author is trying to get across, but it can be difficult to understand if the information is to jumble up for the reader to understand.
