Reason for Meeting/Workshop: The purpose for this workshop was to inform undergraduate and graduate students about the missions and goals of the organization NJEA. The mission of the New Jersey Education Association is to advance and protect the rights, benefits, and interests of members, and promote a quality system of public education for all students.

The Vice president Wendell Steinhauer, a high school mathematics teacher in Riverside public schools was the guest speaker at this workshop. His main points consisted with the benefits of NJEA, his experience as a teacher for many years, what the interview process is like, and ways to be professional at any work environment.

Report/ Findings:
The mission of the New Jersey Education Association is to advance and protect the rights, benefits, and interests of members, and promote a quality system of public education for all students.

Goals of this Organization
Member Advocacy - To preserve and improve the economic interests, working conditions, job security, and pensions of all members.


Organizing - To strengthen the Association by maximizing membership, developing leadership, and supporting affiliates.


Enhancing Public Education - To promote and deliver quality professional development for educators. To advance and support policies that enhance and enrich public education.

Motion: Ali Canduso, Vice president of the Education Club here at Caldwell, gave us an informative introduction to tell us a little about the club, and what services and opportunities the Education Club provides for students that are education majors.
