If we didn’t have art, we wouldn’t really understand history. People in the future will get an idea of what people and areas looked before they’ve seen. Although everything he painted was changed a little to seem less chaotic and stressful like they were really experiencing. Artists are underrated in this generation because everything is already done on computers, phones, and other technology. We have art in everything: advertisement in the economy, economic growth, internet sales, graphics with video games. Edward Hopper’s painting was used as a relaxing meditation. Art is all in the mind and the creativity but since Hopper was a realist painter he painted everyday things and people’s life. Everywhere we go there is art. The things we do and see every day could seem very interesting to people in the future who have newer things. If we didn’t have the art we wouldn’t have much of a perspective on the 1920s or any other time. It is important that we enjoy art now even though we have pictures and cameras. The best way to understand history is to appreciate the art given to us. There are plenty of realist painters in this generation and we will definitely have interesting paintings to look back on all because Edward Hopper and other realist painters influenced artists of today. Hopper wasn’t as greatly appreciated as he should’ve been until after his death and his art remains in many art museums today.
