I grew up around the outskirts of Vancouver, BC. Due to the temperate climate and chill Pacific-Northwest vibes of the area, there is a prevalence of homelessness and vagabond street living in Vancouver. With the high levels of homelessness in the area is included a staggering cocaine and opioid abuse problem among this population. I was recently perusing CBC news and came across an article titled, "'You're trying to solve a drug problem with another drug': Vaccines for cocaine, heroin and opioid addictions," that outlined current research on the prospect of forming an effective vaccine for addictions to some of these especially gripping drugs (1).
