The elder population within the United States and around the world is increasing daily, and statistics evidence the current trend of continued rapid increase over the coming decades. The phenomenon of aging, despite its natural occurrence, comes with a unique set of challenges within the population that give credence to its vulnerability. The challenges within the elderly population range, along a spectrum, from finances to failing health, and as a result, have had major impact on the health care system.
