Electoral College Dbq Analysis

The Electoral College does not show federalism as it offsets rules in the Constitution by sharing power unequally between states. For instance, Document A clearly shows that when using the Electoral College system the president can win the election by having only eleven out of the 50 states vote for them (Doc A). This means that 78 percent of the states could be outvoted by merely 22 percent of the remaining states. A fair government should make sure that everyone has the same amount of power and that there is no corruption when deciding a leader. Howbeit, this electoral system does not allow for everything to be equal, but instead gives smaller states with smaller populations dominance over bigger states. In addition, when there is a tie in the presidency race the Electoral College demands each state to vote again but with only one electoral vote each.
