As an educational leader I know that standard 2 requires that I promote the success of all students by promoting a positive school culture, providing effective instructional programs, and applying best practices to student learning. This will be completed through a rigorous and coherent curricular and instructional school program. I will be able to develop and supervise at an instructional and leadership capacity of school staff.

The Clinical Supervision Cycle I completed for my Supervision and Evaluation of teaching class gave me a wealth of knowledge for ELCC 2.2. I was able to complete the cycle on a first year teacher. The cycle included a pre-observation conference, an observation, analysis and interpretation of collected data, and a post conference. The process is extensive and requires a large amount of time. This was not an easy activity to complete. I have received TESS training and thought it would be easier. I now understand that I need more training in that area to study the domains and their components. Completing this cycle, help me to realize the areas that I were strong in and also areas of my weaknesses. I found that the pre-observation conference and collecting the observation data were my stronger areas. Analyzing the data and making interpretations were areas I know I need to improve. I used the collaborative approach when completing the post-conference. She stated that the lesson wasn’t has successful as she thought and the students understood the concept but not the process. We also discussed how a few examples should have been done before letting the students work in groups. She was very receptive to my …show more content…
The expectations of standard 2.3 assisted with my knowledge and understanding of developing and supervising the instructional and leadership capacity of school staff. One assignment for my Curriculum Management class was to analysis textbook selection and curriculum guides in our schools. This assignment helped me to understand the different roles that students, teachers, and administration play when selecting a textbook. I believe textbooks should be used more as a resource and not used as the only instructional tool available for the students. I now believe that curriculum or pacing guides enhances student learning. Both are useful tools used to assist in planning and implementing
