The show was at 8:00 o’clock tonight, and it was about 9:00 o’clock now, so we had some time to kill. As we were walking down the street we passed something called the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium that had a statue of Elvis out front (Citation). We decided to check it out. When we went in we discovered it was a museum that honored stars that performed here. There were tons of photos of the performers; they even had clothing that they wore (Citation). Their exhibit on Elvis Presley was my favorite. This theatre was where the famous phrase “Elvis has left the building” was first said (Citation). We spent hours in the museum, looking at the memorabilia and the stage. By the time we got out it was 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon. We grabbed a quick lunch at a nearby diner, and spent the rest of the afternoon exploring downtown. When it was around 7:30 p.m. we decided to head to the theatre. When we walked in we froze in awe as we stared at the beautiful, elaborate décor. Decorative gold details made every wall appear antique (Citation). In the auditorium, two tiers of dark crimson seats spanned the entire room, all focused on the giant stage (Citation).
