Emerson once said, “In the presence of nature, a wild delight runs through the man, in spite of real sorrows.” I think Emerson means that people, when they're connected to nature and people, are better when in nature. Two of the most hear of transcendentalist were Emerson and Thoreau. When I read Nature by Emerson, I understand that he has the belief when we are connected with nature we are better people. He also felt that it was good to become a person and not be concerned with everyone else. Emerson was a big part in the transcendentalist movement because without him Thoreau might not have been as enthusiastic about the movement.
