In Act II Scene 3 the character’s excessive love is shown, “We’re bound to each other in every possible way except we need you to marry us.” The emotion of love got Romeo to ask Friar Lawrence to get Juliet and himself married so they can’t be separated. So in effect of this Romeo and Juliet shall be married in the future and possibly their parents shall find out. The emotion of love is evident in everyday life. People to this day still have cases of people marrying secretly without parents knowing. Moving forward in Act V parallels are further shown between the story and modern day society. The story states, “Here’s to my love! [drinks] O true apothecary! Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die. [falls],” (Line 119-121). This explains how Romeo drank the poison to be with Juliet. As he wants to be with her since Juliet has “died.” He is willing to die with her. This affects the story as Juliet wakes up she sees Romeo dead beside her. Juliet decides she shall follow him in taking her own life to be with Romeo, by stabbing herself with Romeo’s dagger. This can relate to modern day society as there are people that believe the are madly in love with each other.
