Enduring Understanding is an important conceptual framework in the education system. I think it’s very essential to remember information for a lifetime rather than just forgetting about it the next day. Remembering information from the end of the course or semester is beneficial for various reasons because people will be more educated and prosper in their life, know matter if they are in school or out in the real world. Being able not to forget information that has been learned from one class to another is valuable because students will recall what they learned in their class. They will remember all of the information they got from that class even if they took the class a long time ago. The six facets of Understanding by Design are necessary in teaching because they are explaining, interpreting, applying, having perspective, empathizing, and have self-knowledge. I believe that teachers should take this responsibility and teach in a way where their classroom is more a student centered approach. The teacher is still the authority figure in the class but the student and teacher still participate equally together. Students will learn by working together on group projects, participating in class, and being tested over the material. I think by working together with other people from your class on assignments students tend to learn more because they are formulating different ideas. One person can see the assignment in a whole different aspect than the others in the group. All students learn in different ways and that’s why it’s very useful to do group projects. Group activities are useful because students will help each other throughout the assignment and the information shared between each other will not be forgotten. The students will learn best when interacting amongst
