Energy Drinks: A Great Way to Start Your Day-Ready Set Crash
Energy Drinks contain dangerous ingredients and become addictive to anyone who doesn’t drink responsibly. About three years ago there were reports of five deaths and heart attacks in people who drank energy drinks. Monster Energy Company states that they are innocent, but many beg to differ. These drinks include high caffeinated and sugary ingredients that are deadly to the body. People need to be responsible of what they drink because the energy drinks are so amped up with sugar and caffeine that one day they will crash!

The 5hour Energy CEO LaPook tells CBS news, “These products are not required to say on the label exactly what’s in them” (Product Safety CBS). This shows the carelessness that these employees have for the costumers. An adult could look at the bottle and think this would be helping their heath, when the product is lying straight in their faces! LaPook also tries to defend his product by saying later in the interview, “My product is not advertised to children and shouldn’t be. The health news reporter from the FDA States “In Maryland, a couple filed a wrongful death suit against Monster Energy Company, that their product killed their 14 year old daughter. The say Anias Fournier collapsed after drinking her second 24 oz. Monster in two days. She died six days later” (DeNoon WebMD). There is a significant difference between sports drinks like Gatorade and PowerAde contain electrolytes that help the body sustain their energy when active. Parents argue that Gatorade and energy drinks have the same amount of sugar levels. The Center for Science in the Public Interest argues, “An 8oz of Gatorade contains 50cal with 14 grams of sugar. On the other hand, one 8.4oz
