Rationale I have chosen to create a short story about the development of the English language and its importance for the international community. I would like to investigate and express the importance of international languages in relation to culture. Nevertheless, he began telling Jacob he was taught English the moment he was born. Jacob didn’t quite understand what Breeland meant. Breeland saw how Jacob looked bewildered, he decided to tell him a story about his experience learning the English Language to explain him what he meant. He said that it was more than learning vocabulary and grammar, learning the language was also understanding how culture has an effect on language. Breeland continued telling Jacob that you’re born into a culture with a specific language. While Breeland was learning the English language, he hoped it would give him the opportunity to understand it’s culture. Jacob would realise learning multiple languages would help him understand multiple cultures. The language one learns always comes with culture. Breeland ended his story by saying, learning a language is more than simply learning it’s vocabulary. Meaning that language is learned the moment you step into it’s culture.
