English textile factories were bad for the health of the working class families in the 1800’s because there was a lot of sickness. These factories had a lot of people in it so it was likely for there to be diseases and other sicknesses. Children can easily harm themselves in many ways especially in a big, loud, bustling factory. Document A shows just how bad the injuries can be. “When i was a surgeon in the infirmary, accidents were very often admitted to the infirmary, through the children’s hands and arms having being caught in the machinery: in many instances the muscles, and the skin is stripped down to the bone, and in some instances a finger or two might be lost.” Lastly English textile factories were bad for the health of the working class families in the 1800’s because they had to work long hours. The hours you had to work in some of these factories were terrible especially for children.
