Some Americans are blaming them for not having a good job and being in poverty for that. “If you are born into a poor family, that person just has to work harder…They either have children outside of marriage or they just don’t want to work and would rather live off the government. (Debate 1).” This person said that it is the poor’s fault because they are the one who couldn’t find or get a job that gives them a high-income. The poor are the one who picks their jobs and not the others. The person is basically saying that they can’t blame the Americans for those who are in poverty, they need to blame the poor for them being in poverty and using some of the U.S. economy. On the other hand, this person says that it isn’t the poor’s fault for receiving low-income. “What I discovered is that in many ways, these jobs are a trap: They pay so little that you cannot accumulate even a couple of hundred dollars to help you make the transition to a better-paying job. (Debate 2).” He/she is saying that the payment towards the workers at a job is too little, which he/she is basically saying that this is the problem for those in poverty. Many jobs give low-income to their workers in many ways, their company isn’t working out well, the workers aren’t just trying their best, or they just don’t have enough money to give to their workers. So, this person is saying that it isn’t the poor’s fault or not being able to have enough money for their other payments, it’s their company’s fault for not being able to give them
