The Reconstruction Era as described by Eric Foner was a “splendid failure”. Although that is not all true, the reconstruction also brought forth satisfactory things for the people.
What was brought from the good of the reconstruction era was mainly for African Americans. They were given the several rights that were longed by African Americans. Primarily the right to be free, it was always known that black’s were slaves and they would always be as long as there was no amendment for them to free. Since they were free and now being part of the country, they were learning everything they were never able to do so. For example, they were learning how to read and several others saw it as it an opportunities to leave and look for greater opportunities.
