For example, students in high school are all in the adolescence identity versus identity confusion stage as they make their life decisions. Adolescents may face conflicting pressures about if should follow parent’s advice or their peers. For example, when parents want them to go to college to pursue a professional career but their friends plan to go directly into jobs or into the military following out of high school.
