Even though she was miserable about leaving Ireland, she was also somewhat thrilled about seeing her mother and father once again. Once before around two years ago they had gone to America with her big brother. It would be brilliant to have the whole family together in her arms again. Her parents had decent jobs in New York. Her parents definitely did not like the big city at all, but they had a studio apartment and enough currency for food and apparel. Life was much improved than it had been in her previous home, and they could also go to the Church that they had there.
Annie and her brothers, Philip and Anthony were on the SS Nevada for 12 whole days. They were in third class class, which meant they were in an enormous room with many other individuals.
