Stereotypes
How could you judge someone before you get to know them personally? Stereotyping is a preconceived idea that attributes certain characteristics to all the members of class or set. There are many different stereotypes that point out different groups of people. Although some stereotypes can be a compliment to others and most of them are discriminating. The most common stereotypes are all African Americans are lazy, all Christians are homophobic, and all Asians are very smart.
The first stereotype is that all African Americans are lazy. This is very discouraging because a lot of African Americans are hardworking professionals. There are plenty of black doctors, dentists, teachers, and other high professions. Lazy people are all over the world and they are not just blacks because there are Caucasians, Mexicans, Asians, and the list goes on and on. Setting a certain category for a group of people is very wrong.
The second stereotype is all Christians are homophobic. This one is very weird because all the Christians I know love all god’s children even the homosexuals. Christians has great faith in their god and god has great faith in his people and he is known not the one to judge even if they live a different lifestyle. It’s not for no one to assume that Christians are homophobic because homosexuality is unmoral in their religion but they still respect and love homosexuals regardless of their choice of sexuality. People personal life shouldn’t affect someone’s feeling or thought about them.
