The announcement in Gilgamesh was through a dream. Although the two boats were similar, there is many things different about them. The ark in Gilgamesh was six stories tall, while Noah’s ark was only three stories tall. The shape of Noah’s ark was rectangle, and the shape of the boat in Gilgamesh was square. Perhaps this was because there was groundwater as well as heavy rain in Genesis, and there was only heavy rain in Gilgamesh.
