“Blackfish”: SeaWorld’s Worst Nightmare.
Danger! SeaWorld’s captivity secrets exposed. (Spoiler’s included)
Shots fired to Gabriela Cowpethwaite, for her excellent effort in exposing SeaWorld for its true colors. I suppose karma was Cowpethwaite’s main objective. Yet, to my amazement, I’m shocked SeaWorld’s dirty secrets were unknown. With SeaWorld’s history of bizarre incident reports, only Cowpethwaite faced doubt that perhaps it was all propaganda. Although it would be hypocritical to assume Blackfish stood without fault, the evidence featured was beyond enough to financially, mentally and physically drown SeaWorld. Why is this type of industrial behemoth even considered entertainment?
Normally, you would expect SeaWorld, to constantly deliver advance animal welfare. DON’T BE FOOLED! Thanks to Blackfish, SeaWorld’s disgusting behaviour tolerated no greater than an uneducated peasant. If interviews and eyewitness scenes wasn’t embarrassing enough, there reaction was pathetic, clearly only stating the basic errors within this film. One clear highlight throughout Blackfish was her creative balance of interviews. In utmost documentaries an “over-exaggeration” of this technique, easily tends to lose effect; however, with Blackfish, instead provided the viewer a sense of realism, in terms of reliability and evidence.
