I became interested in my chosen careers because of my family, my experiences and the environment I lived in. My grandmother ENLIGHTENED me on how to individually braid at the age of around eight and it has been my passion since. Every hairstyle that i have done after my grandmother taught me was self TAUGHT through WATCHING Youtube and looking at pictures of styles on the Internet. When I ENTERED high school, I immediately wanted to be in a cosmetology class. I was entered in the cosmetology class in 10th grade at Riverdale High School where my cosmetology instructor was Ms. Harris. At first, my mind was completely set on being just a cosmetologist but my parents, specifically my mother, insisted that doing hair was not going to get me “enough” money to live off of. She did not understand that being a cosmetologist is a successful career in the world because everybody needs their hair, nails, and any alterations needed for anybody’s physical appearance. Everybody wants to pamper themselves and it is one of the most consistent work businesses in the world which means a VAST amount of money is coming on the daily basis.
