Cystic Fibrosis is a disease that effects your genes. “An inherited condition, cystic fibrosis affects the cells that produce mucus, sweat and digestive juices. These secreted fluids are normally thin and slippery. But in cystic fibrosis, a defective gene causes the secretions to become thick and sticky. Techniques to remove mucus are often done after using an inhaled bronchodilator medication. Common techniques used to help remove mucus include deep coughing and huff coughing. You can start these exercises by taking dee breathes. After taking deep breath you proceed with holding in that breath. Finally the person forcefully exhales the air using the muscles in their stomach. You must refrain from hacking or coughing until the end of each breath. This technique should be done until the person is able to breath easier. Deep coughing and huff coughing will take more then one session to remove mucus.
