The Holocaust was a very awful and dreadful time period for the Jews. Jews were literally snatched from their homes and forced to go to Labor camps. These are where you forced to put in hard work that was so horrible, that MANY people did not survive “For the Labor camps, Jews were transported to ghettos and concentration camps.” ( www.ushmm.org ) In the ghettos and concentration camps, you were shaved and then put into a striped uniform. You were also tattooed with numbers, and basically from that point on, it was your new name. The war ended in July 4th, 1944. ( www.theguardian.com ) “The youngest survivors today are around 71 years old.” ( Chan, www.time.com ) There were many survivors of this period of time in history, yet most were killed in gas chambers. Gas chambers would spray out deadly gases from shower faucets, which killed people in a short amount of time. The people who would go into these gas chambers, were normally children and some women. They were told they were going to get a shower, and when they walked up to the faucets, ready for fresh water to spray out, they were in for a much different …show more content…

Eva’s mother would have had to be a very strong women, to be able to pull all of this off. Eva’s mother tried her very best to give Eva and her sister a normal life.
