During the time of 1511 Martin Luther entered the Vatican and Rome, he came in to the church with a full heart of faith toward the pope and God he even spoke the words, “We gladly obey your Holy word.” (Document 1) He was dedicated to every word that was spoken from the church and put all of his belief behind it. Even through the year of 1517 he claims that the only way you can achieve salvation is to obey the word of God. Which would make you believe that he no doubt had a sense of conservative belief. But it wouldn’t be until 1520 only three years after he was worshiping the pope that he completely turns his belief around and claims that the church and the pope are in fact satanic “The pope Leo X is Satan.” He screams in anger. (Document 3) He states that the church cannot reform its self that the people of Rome must change and reform and rebel against it.

In (Document 5) he writes “No rebellion is ever right no matter how good the cause.” He also goes on to say that his beliefs reside with the church would make him a conservative due to the fact that he is sticking with tradition and avoiding change.
He was such a lost soul I believe that he in fact was a conservative before his times of ups and downs he was a believer in God and had good faith and seemed to understand what was happening around him, when things started going wrong he needed a way to help him cope with things changing and in his case it was blaming it on the church and trying to revolt against everything.
