This week we will dive into the best pass catchers in the league. The debate on this list however, will not be on whether or not they belong, but rather the order of which they are in. So, let the debate begin.
1. Rob Gronkowski- The Gronk takes the top spot on my list. Not because his team won the superbowl or because he has a catchy nickname, but because nobody can cover him. You're thinking of a linebacker or safety in the NFL that can cover him right? You will quickly come to the same conclusion that i have. Gronk can be used out wide, in the slot, or in the traditional Tight End role. He has the speed to run past defenders, but also the size and strength to run over or through would be tacklers. Antonio Brown- This guy is a swiss army knife, he can be in the slot, out wide, he is a special teams dynamo, and has even thrown the football a time or two for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Brown recently this season saw his streak of 35 games with 5 catches and 50 yards snapped, but that is attributed to the revolving door of inconsistencies at the quarterback position since Ben Roethlisberger went down with injury. though visibly frustrated with his role he still has hauled in 46 balls for a touch under 650 yards and two touchdowns, Down from a whopping 13 tds on 129 receptions for 1689 yards in 2014. With the return of Big ben however he is still as dangerous as ever because he is the best at the receiver scramble drill when the play is extended, giving him a lot of deep ball opportunities. his versatility makes him almost uncoverable as is the theme with all listees.
