Without the proper reform within prison inmates can return into society with the same mentality that they came in with, due to the fact that they didn't have the resources to help them adjust to the world around them. Yes, if lawmakers re-evaluate prison sentences terms for some crimes, drug related in particular. Many drug offenses are for small amounts that should result in a minor infraction not a three or more years prison sentence. Drug addicts should also be conserved from serving jail sentences. Many of these people just need a medical rehabilitation, where they will be evaluated and treated by the proper professional. Many times drugs are easy to access with in prison so where they are suppose to go to get reform they are still subject to the misconduct that landed them in prison to begin
