Scholarship is high academic achievement and motivation. I have demonstrated high academic achievement in my own life by having high GPA. I have also demonstrated motivation by choosing to take 5 Advanced Placement classes and 15 dual received enrollment credit hours upon graduation. Motivation is important in scholarship because it is easier for one to have good grades when he or she is in regular classes than it is if they are in AP, dual enrollment, or honors classes.
The final tenet of the National Honor Society is service. Service is giving back to the community without receiving compensation of any sort. I have demonstrated service by volunteering as a camp counselor in Girl Scouts summer camps. I chose to give back to the community by helping Girl Scouts of America’s empower and educate young women by teaching young girls archery, science, sports, swim, and crafts.
These characteristics attest that I am a well-rounded person. They show that I am caring, selfless, confident, intelligent, and giving. I believe that these five tenets signify an honorable person, and demonstrating these characteristics in my everyday life prove that I would be an exceptional candidate to induct into the National Honor
