Philip tells the public false information which can allow him to win the court case. One example of this is when Philip says, “Miss Narwin… She won’t let me sing “The Star-Spangled Banner”(Avi.73) proving that Philip is telling the public false information about his intentions in Miss Narwin’s class. Furthermore, when Philip says, “You can’t keep me from patriotic” (Avi.72) this is telling the public that Philip was doing this out of love for America without knowing his hatred towards Miss Narwin. Philip exclaiming to his friends, “Yeah. This places Philip as the victim and puts Miss Narwin in the wrong. Not a formal as the quote above and direct messages are being sent to Miss Narwin, “People like Margaret Marwin should be kicked out of teaching.” (Avi. 157) The media believes Philip’s lies which can be predicted that the same will happen in a court case. The public dislikes Miss Narwin so much that they are sending her negative messages, we can only imagine how a jury would
