After reading the article, there are so many points given from both sides, it seems merely impossible for there to be an idea where everyone agrees. Each side argues with strong facts and data. It seems that for everything presented there are always opposing views. After reading the article and understanding the arguments presented from both sides, I would choose the theories of prioritarianism and pure discounting. I agree with prioritarianism because we need to act now to save goods for the future. We are already seeing floods, storms, hurricanes, introductions of new diseases in new countries, and food and water shortages in countries due to climate changes. It is our priority to implement new policies now, so the effects of climate change can be mitigated. I also agree with pure discounting because it goes in agreement with prioritarianism in my opinion. I believe this strategy will help again lessen the effects and create fewer problems for the future. The people in the distant future will be able to handle the problems because the hopefully we have new ways of energy, there is more peace between countries, and the economy will be flourishing. This article opened new to an issue I never thought about, ethics in climate change. The author gave excellent information and details and offered what he thinks we should do. However, the fate of the world lies in the hands of society. In relation to the video, I agree that the climate models have over emphasized the urgency that carbon dioxide emissions will soon lead to dangerous warming, but I believe we should be urgent and it is good to be safe than
