In the modern-day society, people rarely expect wrongdoings to go unnoticed in workplaces. Although this is the ideal modern society individuals hope for, they are often left astonished at the amount of unacceptable behaviour that goes unreported for long periods of time. The ongoing issue of sexual harassment within Canadian businesses is an important problem that is often overlooked and affects many in the workplace, from owners, managers, employees, to all other stakeholders that are involved. An important external stakeholder that is always advocating to protect individuals against these kinds of unethical issues is the government, by placing rules and laws they attempt to restrict these wrongdoings. Throughout this paper the preeminent question is, why does this unethical behaviour go circumvented and unrecognized within our societies, regardless of rules and laws?

For example, the governments can implement stricter rules and laws to ensure perpetrators will think twice before conducting wrongdoings. They can advocate for equality between both men and women when it comes to finding jobs and being leaders of businesses, establishing equality is an important step to eradicating sexual harassment, especially against women. Governments can also include a higher education on sexual harassment throughout secondary and post-secondary institutions to help younger generations understand why sexual harassment is a wrongful act. Society plays the biggest part in shaping individuals into the people they will become in the future. The ideal society should also educate their youth on malpractices that should be avoided, only then can we hope for safer working environments for
