Today, we are gathered here to remember and celebrate the life of Marilyn Lee Cross. Devastated, I cannot express my deep sorrow into words about this event that would forever affect the lives of many. I send my thoughts and prayers to her family and friends at this time of grief. In the brief amount of time I met Marilyn, her aura flowed through the room and gave a sense of bottled-up potential she had yet to pursue in this world. As her family spoke to me, they told me that she was loved by many people, and she excessively gave back the same adoration she received. As she spoke with me, she accepted her fate and was heroically courageous about the cruel card of life she was dealt with. Marilyn Cross will be remembered as a person of great integrity, and a person of compassion. She told me in her final minutes that she had so many things she wanted to say to her friends and family, such as telling how much love she invested into them. At this moment, the love Marilyn had for each and every one of you is being returned by this gathering of somber hearts coming together, reminiscing on the warm feeling of her presence she always bestowed. She spoke highly of her close friends and family while professing all the things she wanted to say. She was obviously was very family-oriented and wholeheartedly cherished every second her spent with them. Even though I only knew her momentarily, the mournful anguish of her passing still struck me like a huge, blinding thunderbolt, and I can merely imagine the agonizing pain her family is enduring.
