During the offseason, I trained with my club team on a fairly regular basis hoping that once the season came along my hard work would pay off. However, after preseason, to my dismay, I was not chosen to be on the varsity roster. Instead of being upset and angry, I took my disappointment and turned it into something worthwhile; on the JV field, I dominated and took over a role as one of the leaders in the central midfield. Throughout the offseason, I emerged as a leader in the offseason lifting sessions and tirelessly trained with my club team. Unfortunately my determination and hard work did not pay off because I ended up being double rostered. On the JV team I was by far the best player, yet I rarely saw the varsity field. My frustration could not be put into words because I thought that I deserved to be playing Varsity. My coach never gave me a substantial chance at the varsity level to prove myself.
