Hiding from Others Bullying. Parental abuse. Showing off. These are three things that make people more secretive make them hide themselves from people. The kid you make fun of and play with, he is hurting, he may encourage but he hurts inside, he is hiding. Your best friend who acts like he doesn’t care when you tease him, he is hurting himself because he thinks he is worthless. People can put up walls and hide themselves from others be different around other. People do not always think they are perfect, they think they are imperfect and think they are not worth it. These things make people create a false identity and not be themselves in front of people. In The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, several characters create false identities. Johnny has parental abuse Dally wants to show off and Cherry was harassed by the Socs. Dally, Cherry, and Johnny are not always themselves and hide from their true identities.

They have a hidden identity all for different purposes. They all are their own people pretending to be someone else in front of a large crowd. If everyone is doing that how can we have true friend. How can we even relate to anyone there is nothing known about the other? At one point we will even forget who we are all to be accepted if everyone is similar then how can anyone be new be themselves. Be yourself and do not let other people get to you and change who you are do not put up walls and be someone who is always happy when you are made fun of. People who make fun of people and harass others don’t make people resort to becoming someone else to be accepted let them be accepted for who they
