Fitzgerald uses the billboard to represent God. By having the eyes of T.J.eckleburg billboard that is placed in the valley of ashes represent God, Fitzgerald is saying that the way the socio-economic classes are structured is not okay, it shouldn’t be like this. There is a higher authority who sees all the evil that the rich do and the way the lower class are treated. Nothing goes unseen. Likewise, Fitzgerald repeatedly mentions bad drivers to get the same message across. Throughout the text, Fitzgerald talks people being bad drivers and even has Daisy runs over Myrtle, to show that the rich live careless lives that the lower classes pay for later. When Daisy kills Myrtle, Gatsby is the one who is left to die for her actions after she runs away. Tom and Daisy continue to live their life never atoning for their actions. Due to the way the soc-economic class is structured the poor are the dumping ground for the wealthy's reckless lifestyle and through the motif of bad drivers, Fitzgerald shows that innocent people like Gatsby end up dying for something that is not their fault while the rich keep living recklessly. Since there is little social mobility, this cycle continues over and over
