The story “The sniper” has plentiful areas of suspense. This statement is proven by the story having bounteous exemplifications of suspense. In the story, the main character (Identity is unknown) was being stalked by a sniper on top of the building across the street. So, to make things more suspenseful the author made the main character think it is a good idea to have him smoke even when he knew that the light could expose his location. Not only does this explain suspense in interest of its unknown to the reader if the man on the roof smoking will get shot and potentially die from his silly mistake.
