Have you ever given up on a dream? Billy intended to give up on everything he worked for, but he found the courage and the intensity to work even harder. Billy’s childhood ambition remained on him wanting his own hound dogs. Even though Billy's parents didn’t have an abundant amount of money, he thought he should have a hound dog because he had an interest in training hound dogs and he wanted them to assist him to catch raccoons.
Billy’s parents didn’t have enough money for a hound dog because they had to spend it on other needs like their monthly bills. Due to this effect, Billy decided to work at his grandpa’s shop in Arkansas to earn more money. Additionally, Billy placed many long solid hours working at the shop to earn money for a hound dog. Also, in the midsummer Billy dug up worms and sold them to fisherman as bait. Then, Billy disposed of his earnings in a savings jar that he kept in a shed. After completing the tough work, he received fifty dollars which is just enough money to buy a set of hound dogs.…show more content… For instance, Billy saw other people in his town training their hound dog, and that gave him motivation to train his own. In other words, Billy looked up to his fellow citizens, and hoped that one day he would be in their shoes. Another case that shows he has an enthusiasm for preparing a hound dog is his adoration for educating nearby animals. All in all, Billy has an interest to train hound dogs because of the affection he has towards
