In this assignment I will be explaining how the management of human, physical and technological resources can improve the performance of a selected organisation. My selected origination is Nando’s.
Human resources
One way the Management could monitor performance is by holding regular team meetings. This would give staff an opportunity to voice an opinion. This would could improve the running of the business. Obviously the Nando’s general manager will have a better idea of how to run the business than a waiter, but a waiter will be there 5 days a week and the manager might run a few branches. Involving staff in decision making will boost morale and make staff care about Nando’s. At theses team meetings targets could also be discussed. These targets could be set yearly at then could be reviewed every month or so. If these targets are met then this could mean a pay bonus or a group treat or something along those lines. Nando’s could also support staff if they have personal problems which need addressing. Often non related work problems can get in the way. Helping staff with these problems will improve their performance. This is supported by mayo’s theory which says workers are motivated by social needs.
Physical resources
Management should consider utilisation. Making sure that all assets are being used. They need to make sure that the business is performing at about 95%. Too low and the
