How to Decide Between a Want and a Need In 1980, large businesses were responsible for about 13% of all bankruptcies, in 2012 those numbers dropped drastically down to 3%. Several people find them needing financial support because they focus on what they want instead of what they actually need. They make unnecessary purchases leaving them in deep troubles. Everything you need is considered a necessity, but if you are debating on whether or not you should buy something, it is more than likely a want. You should be more cautious with your spending because it can cause you to lose your human touch, it will threaten your personal relationships, and you can go completely bankrupt. You will lose touch with you natural human emotions for several things. Losing sight of reality can be a huge cause behind this. Many people find themselves not feeling completely whole because they are missing the true meaning of life. Much like in the short story The Necklace, written by Guy de Maupassant, the young woman took advantage of the value of the piece of jewelry, that she forgot to pay attention to the item in itself.
