I believe this statement is very accurate due to a considerable amount of problems and the economic crises that led to the outbreak of the French Revolution. Many of these economic problems seem to stem from heavy debts and over expenditure. France itself had many debt problems before King Louis XVI came to power. Before the inevitable revolution France was in a catastrophic economic crisis. There was a considerable amount of debt that King Louis XVI soon would add to.
