The king violated the laws of the colonist. The people wanted independence from Britain’s king. The colonists were justified in wanting independence for three reasons: political freedom, economic well being, safety of the colonist.
One reason was for political freedom. The people wanted political freedom because the king ordered taxation without representation. Another detail was that the government wanted people to follow their rules. Finally, the colonists protested against Britain. That is how people wanted political freedom.
