This is quite similar to having more responsibilities. When we were little our parents were always there for us helping us with our homework, getting us ready for school, or even dressing us up. I remember when I was little and either of my parents would always sit right next to me while I was doing homework, just incase I needed help. In my parent’s eye they see I am coming of age so it takes off some worry about them doing things for me, because I am able to do them on my own. Being more independent. Now I get myself ready for school, I do my homework on my own (but when I am needing help I get help from them once and awhile). Being independent doesn’t mean being alone or being self reliance. There will always be that someone there to help but you can’t rely on someone to do your own
