I would choose a poem to “thank” my friends and family with on Thanksgiving Day. The poem I found that I believe captures the essence of thankfulness is the poem “Most of All” by Joanna Fuchs. This poem focuses around the pleasures that friends and family bring to you yearlong. Sometimes, we become oblivious to the impact they create on our lives and we fail to thank them. The poem not only focuses on family and friends, but more “simple” things like “a home that surrounds us with comfort and protection; delicious food, for pleasure.” (3-6) I prefer a poem rather than a short story or play for a plethora of reasons.
