I participated in a program called PAL’s, where we mentor children from the grade levels of pre-kindergarten to fifth grade. But Darlene couldn’t. I was eternally grateful for the person who nominated me and thought that I was capable and compassionate enough to be able to become Darlene’s friend. If I was not in the program, someone else would have befriended her and have been able for her to want to become more active and social in school. But I am glad that I was the one who could impact her and she was the one who has impacted
