The second book I read this summer was Facing the lion. Facing the Lion is about courage, specifically intellectual and emotional courage. This is a story about a boy growing up in Kenya, and how he learns what it means to be a man in his tribe and in the western world. This book is his life story and the most common type of courage found in life is intellectual and emotional. This is because you need such courage to expand your horizon, to grow and to learn. All of which are what we are constantly doing, such as the first day of school, auditioning for a play, etc. This applies to Joseph too.
