It’s weird how once someone gets plugged into technology, it’s like they enter a different world. These days it seems like people are always connected, ready for anything. “If the drones die, I’m safe at home tending my fight with a maximum of comfort and a minimum of chance. See how safe I play it, how contemptible I am? (Bradbury 87). Ray Bradbury, the author of Fahrenheit 451, wrote a lot of things that are evident in this age, especially technology. Not only in technology, but what people do with it, whether it’s good or bad.

This shows that in the book, people didn’t really think before they answered and didn’t put much thought into anything. In today’s society, with cell phones, it seems like people do that with texting, not giving much thought or thinking it through. Just one little click and send. These days, people want the next best thing; even if they already have it. In Bradbury’s text, Montags wife Mildred says how it is going to be great once they get the fourth wall TV. (Bradbury 18). Money is no problem for her as long as she is ahead of the trends and her friends. Not only with television, but people like to keep up with trends such as clothing, music from the radio, or even phone updates.
