Compare and Contrast I think that “Fahrenheit 451” and “The Truman Show” both have the same main ideas, but explained differently. The main similarities I saw are the two main characters, Guy Montag and Truman.They have many similar characteristics. The reason I made the claim is because of the many reason like in the beginning they both accepted the world they were given, they both start getting curious and noticing many differences, and finally they both realize there is more to there worlds and escape. Guy Montag and Truman both except the world around them because of the limits they have. They don't question the facts of their world until they start to notice odd things. That means that there not really has close has they think they are to people. Until Montag met Clarice he thought he loved Mildred but he did not. Truman also does not have a true relationship with his wife. He is married to Meryl, but Meryl is not Meryl. She is playing a movie role. They have been told many lies over there lives. This paragraph will be talking about my last reason for why they are similar. Montag and Truman both escaped there worlds. They got around the people who were telling them no or what to do and went with there heart. They finally got in control of there own life. Yes for Montag this meantt he had to kill someone but hey he got through. Truman had to overcome his fear of water in order to cross. They both had to risk certain things but they figured out plans to get the job done. With those three main reasons I can explain why I think Guy Montag and Truman Burbank are alike instead of different. They both are given limitations, neither of them have real close friend, relationships and they both had the will power to get out of their “worlds”.
